What is Kinesio Tape?

Kinesio Tape®, also referred to as Kinesio Tex Tape, is the original elastic adhesive tape developed by Dr. Kenzo Kase in 1979. Kinesio Tape is latex-free, hypoallergenic and can be worn for extended periods. It is suitable for a wide range of individuals, from elite athletes and weekend warriors to geriatric and pediatric patients.

How Does Kinesio Tape Work?

Kinesio Tape aids in reducing discomfort and supporting lymphatic drainage by gently lifting the skin at a microscopic level. This lifting action creates convolutions in the skin, which in turn increases interstitial space, leading to a reduction in inflammation, decreased pressure, and improved blood and lymphatic fluid circulation in and out of the targeted area.
